PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY

The Schimerman Law Firm, LLC ("The Firm") takes your privacy seriously and will not share your information with outside parties, except as is necessary for representation, transaction, and  communication, or as required by law.

WHAT TYPES OF INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

Whether by the Firm's website or by other means, we receive, collect, and store the information you provide to our firm.  More specifically, we collect any (1) internet protocol (IP) address; (2) contact and communication information; (3) name, username, and password; (4) payment information and history; and (5) other computer and connection information necessary to conduct business, correspond with, and represent prospective, current, and former clients.  Due too the nature of our business much of the information we collect is personally identifiable and confidential in nature, and is governed by the professional and legal duties governing the profession of law.

On occasion we may also use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, and page interaction information. 

HOW DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION?

When you create a profile and/or message us through the Firm's website we collect any personal information you provide us such as your name, contact information, and your reason for contacting us.  Similarly, when you conduct a transaction on our web platform, as part of that process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address, and email address. 

 

In either circumstance, the information you provide will be used only for the specific reasons outlined above.

WHY DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

HOW DO WE STORE, USE, SHARE, OR DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

The Firm may collect such non-personal and personal information for the purposes of:

  1. Transacting business in exchange for our services;

  2. Contacting and communicating prospective, current, and former clients;

  3. Providing representation to our current and former clients and solidifying relationships with prospective clients through general or personalized service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. Creating aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, which we may use to provide and improve our services; and

  5. Complying with any applicable laws and regulations.

HOW DO WE STORE, USE, SHARE, OR DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

While the Firm's site is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com only provides the online platform that allows us a forum to market our services to you.  The data you provide via this website may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications - and as outline in Wix.com's terms of service is retained on secure firewalled servers. 

Similarly all direct payment gateways offered on this site are provided by Law Pay and regulated by the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.  PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our firm and its service providers.  However the Firm does not retain or store any payment card information provided through this website.

Additionally, while the Firm does retain additional personal and confidential information necessary for representation, that information is not used, stored, or shared on the Wix.com platform without your prior approval.  All personal and confidential information necessary for representation will be ardently guarded in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

In the event that your personal information is disclosed without your prior approval, the Firm will notify you of the disclosure as soon as reasonably possible and will coordinate with you to minimize the risk of that disclosure.

HOW DO WE COMMUNICATE WITH YOU?

The Firm may make contact with you to notify you regarding your account, to resolve a disputes, to collect unpaid fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our organization, or as otherwise necessary for representation.  For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.  In the event that another type of communication is relied upon, you will be given reasonable notice of why that method is necessary and how to access that method of communication. 

HOW DO WE UPDATE OUR PRIVACY POLICY?

The Firm reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please regularly review it.  Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon posting on this website.  If a material change to this policy is made, we will notify you here first of the update, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
